Newt Gingrich Shows He is More Than a Policy Wonk

Questions about his mother lead to a deeply personal and emotional response from the candidate!

As I saw firsthand at Newt's appearance here a few weeks ago he is willing to answer any question put to him by voters or in debate. But we've rarely seen Newt take on a subject loaded with such emotion as talking about his Mother and the values she imparted to him:

Contrast Newt's answer with the somewhat plastic and programmed response that another candidate might make to a similar question and ask yourself who is more genuine, sincere and trustworty both as a candidate and potential president?

Sign On to the Mike's America New Year's Resolution

Agree to support the eventual GOP nominee or admit you are supporting Obama or indifferent to the prospect of another four years of disaster!

Here's a thought: how about making a New Year's resolution this year that you actually intend to live up to. Wouldn't that be a novelty?

Now, instead of the old resolution about getting more exercise or losing weight what about making a resolution that makes a difference not just in your own life but in the life of the entire nation?

Consider joining me in the following:

A RESOLUTION

We hereby recognize that the presidency of Barack Hussein Obama has been a disaster. The corruption, incompetence and lack of experience demonstrated by the President, his advisers and allies in the U.S. Congress and the American news media have made Americans worse off economically and have damaged our alliances around the world and placed us at a disadvantage in relation to our enemies.

Four more years of this failed, corrupt and recklessly radical presidency would impart lasting and irreparable damage on the fabric of this country and expose us to further economic decline and dangers from overseas.

Therefore, we hereby resolve to do all within our own individual power to remove Obama from office and begin repairing the damage and restoring the principles of American exceptionalism as they are practiced and understood at home and abroad.

Consequent to the above, we hereby pledge to support the eventual GOP nominee, whoever that man or woman should be. Following the primary campaign we agree to put aside our minor differences and work wholeheartedly for the success of the GOP nominee and for the defeat of Obama.

RESOLVED this day on the cusp of the New Year!

Please agree by personal declaration in the comments section. Also, I encourage you to cross post the RESOLUTION at your own blogs and on Facebook.

Signed,

Mike's America

Islamist Bombing Spree in Nigeria Targets Christian Churches

Radical Islam's war on Christianity has nothing to do with the West, capitalism or our support of Israel!

Photobucket
40 dead in multiple attacks by radical Islamists directed at Christian churches in Nigeria on Christmas Day! More at the Daily Mail.

In 2006, a cartoonist for a Danish newspaper drew images of the Prophet Mohammed and Islamists all over the world went on a violent spree of rioting and killing in protest.

On Christmas Day 2011 bombs ripped through churches celebrating Christmas in Nigeria killing dozens and the world gives a collective yawn.

The lesson: you dare not say one word, or even draw a picture, which might provoke a radical Muslim yet they remain free, without ANY provocation, to kill and murder.

The latest violence is just part of a pattern of what happens all over the world where non-Muslims (Christians, Hindu, Buddhist or atheist) live in close proximity to communities of radical Muslims where Shariah Law rules. The message to non Muslims is clear: either submit to the will of Allah or die.

For years now we have been told that the reason the Islamic crazies hate us is because of Western imperialism. Ron Paul repeats the lie that they hate us because we bomb their countries. We've been told they hate us because of our support for Israel. But there is NO connection between the Christians in Nigeria and any scheme of Western imperialism. No tie to Israel. No excuse whatsoever.

And the same is true in countless other areas around the world. Egypt's Coptic Christian churches have been under assualt from the moment the radicals began to push President Mubarak from power. The bombings outside churches in Cairo at the beginning of the New Year 2011 were just a foretaste of a year long struggle to save Christians from the deadly handiwork of Islamist butchery. Attacks on Budhists in Thailand and the beheading of Christian girls in Indonesia (warning, links have grapic content documenting the savagery) further highlight the point that you don't have to be a Western imperialist to be the victim of Islamic barbarity.

And yet, the willful stupidity on the part of some in the West regarding this growing threat continues unabated. Remember the words of Rosie O'Donnell: "Radical Christianity is just as threatening as radical Islam in a country like America." The utter lack of any violent response by Christians to these attacks around the world put the lie to that statement.

But perhaps that is part of the problem. The barbaric Islamists know they can pretty much continue their killing spree without much blowback from anyone. The longer we ignore the threat the deadlier it will become. It's past time the non-Islamist world stopped turning the other cheek and began to defend itself. So far, the only sound being heard are the cries of the victims and their families!

Obama's Last Resort: When All Else Fails Play the Race Card

Obama's incompetent, radical Attorney General, Eric Holder, can't answer the criticisms of his actions so has no other place to go. Same deal with his boss!

Eric Holder, Obama's Attorney General is the most corrupt and incompetent Attorney General since Nixon's A.G. John Mitchell during the Watergate era. Not only has Holder made it clear that the Department of Justice would not prosecute blacks accused of violating the Voting Rights Act, but Holder and his top officials mislead Congress in the investigation of the Fast and Furious scandal where guns were allowed to go to criminals resulting in the deaths of Brian Terry, Border Patrol Agent and scores of others in Mexico.

On top of that toss in Holder's continued insistence on removing dangerous terrorists from Guantanamo Bay and giving them a possible get out of jail free card in American courts and you have an Attorney General and Justice Department that are dangerously out of touch with the American people.

And when the stuff hits the fan, as it has recently over Holder's misleading statements before Congress (Bush A.G. Alberto Gonzales resigned for far less) Holder cannot justify his actions so instead goes on the attack making the most vile and slanderous accusations against his critics. In a recent article in the New York Times Holder fired back:

Of that group of critics, Mr. Holder said he believed that a few — the “more extreme segment” — were motivated by animus against Mr. Obama and that he served as a stand-in for him. “This is a way to get at the president because of the way I can be identified with him,” he said, “both due to the nature of our relationship and, you know, the fact that we’re both African-American.”

Once again, we're back to the old canard that if you disagree or criticize a black Democrat you are a racist. Note that none of this ever applied to the blizzard of lies and innuendo directed at Herman Cain. How unseemly is it for an Attorney General (and a President who presumably winks and nods at such statements) to use this kind of heated, racialist rhetoric instead of try to build a factual case to defend their actions? Well, we know that there are few facts that can defend either Holder or Obama so I guess that explains it!

Christmas Carol Puzzle

Now for something completely different...

Let's take a little break now from the political grind and review a holiday favorite, the Christmas Carol Puzzle. Every year at this time it's the number one search term at Mike's America. It's a fun holiday distraction and great for parties and family gatherings. Just print it out and ask friends to name the Christmas Carol associated with each picture.

The answers are here if you get stumped.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

All Aboard the Crazy Train? Will Ron Paul be Held Accountable for Crazy, Racist Newsletters?

Thanks to Romney's attack ads, Newt has been diminished in Iowa and in his place rises Ron Paul!

Thank you very much Mitt Romney. You managed to derail Newt Gingrich's Iowa campaign. You might have picked up a point or two but the real winner in the latest Iowa polls is Ron Paul. It seems the voters still want anyone but you!

The beneficiary of the latest anybody but Romney surge is Ron Paul. Up to now Dr. Paul has been treated like the crazy uncle. You tolerate him. You let him in the debates but you don't expect him to win. But with Paul's latest surge in Iowa, he will now have to be held to the same standard of accountability that other GOP candidates face (these same rules do not apply to Democrats as we shall see).

Racist Kookery and Klan Connections

Over the years Ron Paul has left quite a paper trail and if one looks at it in some detail you must conclude that he's got a few screws loose. In 1993, a letter published under Ron Paul's signature (PDF) invites the reader to subscribe to his newsletters on investments and politics. In the letter he talks of the new colored money and how citizens will be forced at the point of a gun by IRS agents to turn in their old greenbacks. But he doesn't stop there. He talks about the coming "race war" in our cities and just keeps right on going with more.

In another letter Paul says that "95 percent of the black males in [Washington, D.C.]are semi-criminal or entirely criminal." After the Los Angeles riots, one article in a newsletter claimed, "Order was only restored in L.A. when it came time for the blacks to pick up their welfare checks."
There's more. Much more.

I guess it's no surprise that Ron Paul is a favorite of neo-Nazis and the Ku Klux Klan as well as every other assorted kook and conspiracy group.
Now we are told by Dr. Paul that he didn't write those letters (his former Chief of Staff and other close associates did). And even though he now disavows them, he touted them for years. Furthermore, a former aide describes how:
He did read them, every line of them, off his fax machine at his Clute office before they were published. He would typically sign them at the bottom of the last page giving his okay, and re-fax them to Jean to go to the printer.
It's as difficult to believe that Ron Paul was not aware of what was in his newsletters as it is to believe that Barack Hussein Obama didn't hear Rev. Wright's racist rants during the 20 years he sat in his church. Of course, remembering what I said above, Obama will never be held accountable for participating in that racist church.

Anyway, Thank you Mitt Romney. You managed to derail Newt Gingrich in Iowa, even calling him "zany" and so now we have Uncle Crazy at the top. Good job!

Romney Trashes Gingrich Yet Won't Call Obama a "Socialist?"

In 2008 John McCain refused to call Obama a socialist.  How did that work out?
For months now, Mitt Romney has been asked in interviews and debates if he thinks Obama is a socialist. He has repeatedly refused to say that he is. The latest question on that topic came during a Romney sit down with Bill O'Reilly earlier this week:

Romney: Uh, you know, I consider him a big-government liberal Democrat. I think as you look at his policies, you conclude that he thinks Europe got it right and we got it wrong. I think Europe got it wrong. I think Europe is not working in Europe. And I’ll battle him on that day in and day out. But I’m probably not going to be calling him names so much as calling him a failure.
But apparently Romney can call Newt Gingrich "zany" and "unreliable" without the angst so evident in all the interviews about whether he considers Obama a socialist. On top of that, Romney's Super Pac has been trashing Newt in television ads running all over Iowa.

It's bad enough that Romney has no qualms about name calling when it's a fellow Republicans, but one of the ads from his Super Pac was so untruthful about Gingrich that the Washington Post Fact Checker gave it "Four Pinocchios."

Put aside for a moment that attacking a fellow Republican in such derogatory terms is a violation of Reagan's 11th Commandment ("Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican."). You can expect that during a heated primary contest some things might be said that go a bit over the top. Yet, isn't it curious that Romney considers that tagging Obama as a "socialist" would be considered name calling?

Does Romney think that if he is the eventual GOP nominee that holding back on Obama will innoculate him from the slime storm the Dems will direct at whichever Republican gets the nod? Surely he can't be so naive!

A Wash Times Article Filled with Curious Possibilities

Condi Rice for GOP VP?
Hillary Clinton for Dem VP?

I think that Washington Times columnist Joseph Curl is stretching a bit far on this one, but it raises a whole series of interesting questions if even half of this is true.
America's first black female secretary of state is quietly positioning herself to be the top choice of the eventual Republican presidential nominee, ready to deliver bona fide foreign-policy credentials lacking among the candidates. The 56-year-old has recently raised her profile, releasing her memoir in November and embarking on a monthlong book tour.

After 2 1/2 years as a professor at Stanford, Miss Rice is reportedly getting "antsy" to get back into the political game. "She's ready to go," said one top source.
...
Plus, her selection would be a giant chess move to counter the expected replacement of Vice President Joseph R. Biden with Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. Sure, the White House denies and denies, but that should really make any political watcher more suspicious. One White House insider even told me that the position swap was the only reason Mrs. Clinton joined the administration in the first place.

Curl goes on to suggest that having Rice as #2 on the GOP ticket would once again blunt the race card Democrats play against Republicans at every available opportunity. But Curl fails to point out that the race card is alive and well despite the huge popularity of Herman Cain in the early nominating contest. Never mind that both Cain and Rice were the successful products of growing up in the Deep South during the segregation era. Something Obama only read about in books.

And you can bet that the moment Dr. Rice was selected, or even seriously considered, the left wing racebaiters who always get a pass on their racism will recycle their old taunts of "house slave" and "Aunt Jemima" with nary a whisper of outrage from their media allies.

It's possible Rice might be interested in the V.P. slot. But if so, it's the best kept secret in politics. And it would also depend on who the GOP nominee is. If the nominee were Romney, he'd have a stronger need to shore up the GOP base by selecting someone like Florida Senator Marco Rubio. The choice of Rice would not exactly send conservatives into doing cartwheels of joy. She's got excellent foreign policy credentials but her views on domestic policy might be a stretch too far for many conservatives.

As for the suggestion that Hillary Clinton might replace Biden as #2 on the Dem ticket I have my doubts on that score as well. The rumor has been bandied about for months. It would be a formidable switch as Biden is a hopeless idiot and drag on an already failing ticket. But would Hillary really want to be #2 to Obama? There has also been speculation she's ready to get out and may be tired of trying to prop up Obama's failing foreign policy.

Still, since I don't read the National Enquirer, I'll take Curl's column as the next best thing. Very entertaining and even thought provoking but with a grain of salt!

Romney in 2002: I'm "Moderate," "Progressive"

And you wonder why conservatives are uncomfortable with Mitt?

For all the hullabaloo that has been made about what Newt Gingrich said ten or fifteen years ago, here's some balance. When Mitt Romney was running for Governor of Massachusetts in 2002 (but he's not a career politician) he said the following at a stop in Worcester, Mass.

Cue the tape to the 44 second mark

“I think people recognize that I am not a partisan Republican. That I’m someone who is moderate, and that my views are progressive.”

Is this the man we can trust to lead the toughest political battle of our lives as we attempt to roll back ObamaCare? I'm beginning to wonder.

Obama Top Strategist on Newt: "The higher a monkey climbs on the pole the more you can see his butt."

Imagine the firestorm if ANY top Republican had said something similar about Obama!

So, after Obama's repeated calls for civility, do you think for one moment we will hear much in the "news" media about this?

At briefing for reporters, Chicagoan says of the Georgian: "The higher a monkey climbs on the pole the more you can see his butt."
You could take that comment in a WHOLE lot a ways and not one of them would be very nice. But if any Republican dared to say they "targeted" Democrats for defeat, the professional hand wringing class of media hypocrites would be all over it in a New York 1% minute!

Oh well. Did anyone really expect Democrats to live by the same standards for civility they daily demand of Republicans?

Newt is Willing to Tell the Painful Truth that Romney would Leave Unsaid

It's a stark contrast from the Iowa debate which illustrates how each man would govern if elected President!

There's been some controversy generated by the statement GOP presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich gave to the Jewish Channel in which he called today's Palestinians "an invented people." The former House Speaker was entirely correct in citing history in which Palestine was a geographic area whose residents included Christians, Jews and Arabs. But today of course it defines Arabs, many of whom have stated they would remove or kill every Jew in Israel if given the chance.

These same so-called "Palestinians" whose atrocities include attacking school buses with children inside and more recently butchering a Jewish family as they slept were upset by Gingrich's remarks, calling them "racist."

The question came up at Saturday's GOP debate in Iowa and there was an interesting exchange between Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich which showed how each man might govern. It was very instructive:

Cue the player to the 1:30 mark

From the complete transcript

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: Speaker Gingrich, as I've said, this has caused quite a reaction in-- in the Middle East. The chief Palestinian negotiator, Sa-- Saeb Erekat, said, "Mark my words: These statements of Gingrich will be the ammunition and weapons of the bin Ladens and the extremists for a long, long time."

SPEAKER NEWT GINGRICH: How would he know the difference? Look from historic, George, simply. Is-- is what I said factually correct? Yes. Is it historically true? Yes. Are we in a situation where every day, rockets are fired into Israel while the United States, the current administration, tries to pressure the Israelis into a peace process?

Hamas does not admit the-- the right of Israel to exist, and says publicly, "Not a single Jew will remain." The Palestinian Authority ambassador to India said last month, "There is no difference between Fatah and Hamas. We both agree Israel has no right to exist."

Somebody oughta have the courage to tell the truth: These people are terrorists. They teach terrorism in their schools. They have textbooks that say, "If there are 13 Jews and nine Jews are killed, how many Jews are left?" We pay for those textbooks through our aid money. It's fundamentally-- time for somebody to have the guts to stand up and say, "Enough lying about the Middle East."

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: Governor Romney, (APPLAUSE) you just heard the Speaker say he was just telling the truth. Do you take any issue with that characterization of the Palestinians as an invented people?

GOVERNOR MITT ROMNEY: I-- I happen to agree with-- with most of what the speaker said, except by going down and saying the Palestinians are an invented people. That I think was a mistake on the speaker's part. I-- I think-- you-- you-- I think the speaker would probably suggest that as well. I-- I don't think we want to--

(SPEAKER NEWT GINGRICH: Shakes head and mouthes "NO")

[....]
GOVERNOR MITT ROMNEY: --and the-- and the United States of America should not jump ahead of Bibi Netanyahu and say something that makes it more difficult for him to-- to do his job. My view is this: We stand with the Israeli people. We link arms with them. If we disagree with them, like this president has time and time again, we don't do it in public like he's done it, we do it in private.

And we let the Israeli leadership describe what they believe the right course is going forward. We don't negotiate for the Israeli people. We stand with the Israeli people, stand with our friends, and make it very clear: We are gonna t-- we're gonna tell the truth, but we're not gonna throw incendiary words into a-- a place which is-- a boiling pot when our friends the Israelis would probably say, "What in the world are you doin'?"

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: So there you have it, Mr. Speaker. He says this is gonna make life more difficult for the Israelis.

SPEAKER NEWT GINGRICH: The Israelis are getting rocketed every day. The-- we're not making life more difficult. The Obama administration's making life more difficult. The fact is, the Palestinian claim to a right of return is based on a historically false story. Somebody oughta have the courage to go all the way back to the 1921 League of Nations mandate for a Jewish homeland, point out the context in which Israel came into existence, and "Palestinian" did not become a common term until after 1977. This is a propaganda war in which our side refuses to engage. And we refuse to tell the truth when the other side lies. And you're not gonna win the long run if you're afraid to stand firm and stand for the truth.

GOVERNOR MITT ROMNEY: Of course you s-- of course you stand firm, and stand for the truth. But you don't speak for Israel.

SPEAKER NEWT GINGRICH: I didn't.
[...]
GOVERNOR MITT ROMNEY: And I'm president of the United States, I will exercise sobriety, care, stability. And make sure that in a setting like this, anything I say that can affect a place with-- with rockets going in, with people dying, I don't do anything that would harm that-- that process.

And therefore, before I made a statement of that nature, I'd get on the phone to my friend Bibi Netanyahu and say, "Would it help if I said this? What would you like me to do? Let's work together, because we're partners." I'm not a bomb thrower, rhetorically or literally.

DIANE SAWYER: Under the rules, we need-- your response. (APPLAUSE)

SPEAKER NEWT GINGRICH: I think sometimes it is helpful to have a president of the United States with the courage to tell the truth, just as was Ronald Reagan who went around his entire national security apparatus to call the Soviet Union an evil empire and who overruled his entire State Department in order to say, "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall." Reagan believed the power of truth restated the world and reframed the world. I am a Reaganite, I'm proud to be a Reaganite. I will tell the truth, even if it's at the risk of causing some confusion sometimes with the timid.
I have to admit I like Gingrich's answer. Especially the part about "even if it's at the risk of causing some confusion sometimes with the timid." We have been far too "timid" to call the Palestinians out on their atrocities and to be as forceful and direct with them as we often are with the Israelis.

Like Reagan, we need a president who isn't afraid to call evil by it's name. And that applies to the Palestinians and to all terrorists who perpetuate attacks on innocent civilians. Romney's answer is laced with the kind of political correctness that makes the moral clarity necessary for strong leadership and effective action more difficult.

And that same "let's not upset anyone" attitude could apply as well in domestic politics where a Romney might be less inclined to take on Democrats over big issues like health care and cutting spending.

A true leader knows he cannot please everyone and shouldn't try. A strong leader knows the power of truth and uses it to good advantage. Those who try and appease both sides generally fail to achieve great goals and often make things worse by their indifference to the truth!

Dem Jon Corzine, Key Player in Obama's "Recovery" Plan Can't Explain Where Stock Firms $1.2 Billion in Client Money Went

If Corzine was a Republican this would be major front page news and Corzine would face jail time!

It's strange how the Occupy Wall Street crowd never protested the greed of Democrats like Jon Corzine. The former U.S. Senator and Governor of New Jersey who headed up the Wall Street trading firm MF Global testified before Congress Thursday and said he didn't know what happened to the $1.2 billion that is missing from client funds. Like every other Democrat Corzine blamed his predecessor for the problem.

Funny how the few news reports which do run in the evening news describing this scandal bury or fail to mention Corzine's party affiliation, his part in Obama campaign fundraising or the key role he played in developing Obama economic policy.

But we remember, even if ABCCBSNBCPBS and all the rest do not:

Obama and Biden Praise Corzine; cite key role in Obamanomics!

The "first guy" Joe Biden called after the 2008 election was Jon Corzine! Instead of bothering with the missing $1.2 Billion, maybe we should ask Corzine what happened to the FIVE TRILLION Obama has squandered!

70th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor and the Lesson It Teaches

Stay strong. Stay engaged or war will find us no matter how peaceful our intentions!

Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941
It's easy to become blase about another anniversary of a vicious crime against humanity. The sting is long removed and emotions have cooled. Yet, failure to recognize the lesson of such events condemns us to relive the horror. We saw that on September 11, 2001 but even now that reminder is losing it's punch.

About Pearl Harbor it's important to remember that it only happened because the Japanese thought they could get away with it. They thought America was weak and unprepared. We were. Our peacetime army before the war was so badly equipped that soldiers trained with broom handles instead of rifles and cardboard tanks.

Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto feared that the Pearl Harbor attack would "awake a sleeping giant." He was right. But it took a long time for that giant to wake up. Much blood was spilled because we were not prepared to stem the Japanese tide which made it to within bombing distance of Australia and onto the Aleutian Islands in Alaska before we could contain it

Had our military been prepared. Had our alliances with the other nations victimized by Japan been strong war might never have broken out. "Peace through strength" isn't just a phrase invented by Winston Churchill and repeated by President Reagan. It's a attitude that has been proved to save lives and avoid war.

Will today's military and our alliances be gutted?

To win World War II and to maintain the peace that followed America deployed a global military machine. Not for conquest, but for peace. It is one of the most remarkable achievements in modern history that we were successful in deterring a war with the Soviets after World War II.

But now, Obama and the Democrats want to gut the military to pay for more wasteful domestic spending. It would be a further crime against humanity to allow that to happen.

Equally dangerous is the attitude of GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul and his followers who would abandon our alliances and worldwide military commitments in the false hope that the bad guys would fight with each other and leave us alone. We tried that same path in the 1930's and the world was forever scarred as a result.

If the U.S. giant were to go back to sleep and another great war break out, we may not be able to wake up in time. Peace through Strength works and it saves lives. To believe anything else is to deny the lessons of history!

A Victory for Smears and Allegations: Herman Cain Drops Out of Presidential Race

And Obama's acolytes are now free to put the race card back on the table!

On a sunny Saturday afternoon in Atlanta Georgia Herman Cain, GOP candidate for the GOP nomination for President stood in front of his newly opened campaign headquarters and "suspended" his campaign.

The allegations against Cain, which were never proven, were enough for the liberal news media to try him in the court of public opinion and pronounce him guilty. A Democrat would have insisted that questions about his past were his "private life" and moved on with media help. No so for the most authentic black man to run for President in the 2012 race.

Now, the Democrats who have their fingerprints just beneath the surface of the smear campaign, are free to pull out the race card again and insist that opposition to Obama is race based. They can count on their media allies to remain silent about the Cain candidacy and rely on Dem voters who were probably too busy watching Dancing with the Stars to even know that a genuine black man from the Jim Crow era south had risen as far as he did before the attacks began.

Sadly, Cain's withdrawal is another victory for the smear artists who will now attempt to do the same to other GOP candidates!

Cain Endorsement for ???

Cain's exit from the race will help whittle down the choices voters in key early states will make in January. At 14% in the latest Real Clear Politics average, Cain's voters can play a key role in breaking any possible deadlock between Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney. Since Cain's voters were unlikely Romney supporters the majority will probably go with Cain's fellow Georgian Newt Gingrich.

Whether Cain will make an endorsement in the weeks before the Iowa Caucus remains to be seen.

I have a great deal of respect for Herman Cain. His passion and energy along with that of his supporters have been a high point of this campaign. In his message today announcing the suspension of his campaign he promised to continue fighting for the issues which rallied his supporters to him. I sincerely hope that he does do so. We need more good men like Herman Cain in politics!

Occupy Los Angeles Protesters Leave Behind 30 Tons of Trash

These are the high minded 99% who are going to save the world?

Imagine for one moment the media reaction if any Tea Party protester did so much as drop a gum wrapper during one of their events. It would be front page news!

But don't expect the media to pay much attention to the mountains of filth left behind by Occupy protesters once their foul nests are emptied. This is the scene in Los Angeles after the so-called 99% were cleared out:

Photobucket
Save the Planet?
The Los Angeles Times, one of the only news outlets to report on this disgrace was so appalled that they set up a web page with a panaromic view of the mess.

Want to see what the National Mall in Washington, D.C. looked like after the biggest Tea Party protest in 2009 with hundreds of thousands attending?
Photobucket

Compare that to the National Mall after Obama's inauguration in 2009:

Photobucket

The Occupy mob is just another in a long line of astroturf phony groups who parade around espousing high ideals but in reality are nothing but a dirty rabble leaving garbage in their wake.

Like  good socialists everywhere the Occupy protesters expect someone else to clean up the mess. That's NOT the American way!

End of Hurricane Season 2011 Breaks 110 Year Record for Fewest Major Storms

PhotobucketYet this news won't stop Al Gore and fellow $caremongers from insisting doom is just around the corner!

Pity those poor global warming alarmists! The fools just can't catch a break. After the big hurricane season of 2005 when Katrina turned into a category 5 storm and devastated the Gulf Coast Al Gore made the image of the storm the centerpiece of his Oscar and Nobel Prize winning film; linking it directly to the output of man made CO2.

Gore and other so-called "scientists" repeatedly warned that the bad WEATHER events observed in 2005 were just a taste of worse to come. But like every other prediction based on their flawed theory observations over time have proven them wrong.

In the six years since Hurricane Katrina we have seen the fewest large storms impacting the United States in more than 110 years. That is not an isolated weather event, it is a solid and undeniable trend. The chart below from Roger Pielke, Jr., professor of environmental studies at the Center for Science and Technology Policy Research at the University of Colorado at Boulder says it all:

Photobucket

And if you think that it's just that the U.S. has been lucky, you'd be wrong! Dr. Ryan N. Maue of the Florida State University Center for Ocean-Atmospheric Prediction Studies published a peer reviewed paper with the following chart which shows accumulated cyclone energy worldwide is at a near 40 year low:
Photobucket

One word of warning. This historic streak will have to end sometime and you can bet that the moment another large storm impacts the United States the Warmists will take to the streets again to mark the WEATHER event and cry that the "sky is falling."

And if you happen to point out how wrong the Warmists are on this or any of the the other predictions they made (see the chart comparing computer model predictions to actual temperature observations)you'll be tarred and feathered.

Walter Russell Mead writing at American Interest warns:
And remember, the science is settled. Anybody who asks how many of the climate change models predicted this absence of major hurricane events in the US six years ago is a vicious climate denier, is funded by the oil companies, and should be dealt with by the usual methods.
Why do the Warmists persist? Follow the money!

The latest Climategate emails revealing what the so-called scientists pushing global warming really think was instructive. The Washington Post reports how one scaremongering acolyte had a moment of contrition. The centerpiece of global warming theory is that warming will create a warming in the upper atmosphere (the green house effect). Yet that's not what the science shows:
An official from the British Met Office, a scientific organization that analyzes the climate, writes to the Climate Research Unit’s then-director, Phil Jones: “Observations do not show rising temperatures throughout the tropical troposphere unless you accept one single study and approach and discount a wealth of others. This is just downright dangerous. We need to communicate the uncertainty and be honest.
But unfortunately, all that "honesty" and "uncertainty" is hushed up the by big kahunas who are raking in the money while spreading doom and gloom. By now, most readers will have heard that former V.P. Al Gore has gotten rich by scaring people. And let's not forget Obama's campaign contributors who have bilked the federal government for billions in "green jobs" that didn't create many jobs but did line the pockets of Obama's friends.

Here's another example. One of the chief priests of the global warming religion is NASA scientist James Hansen (it's Hansen's computer model that falsely predicted doom and gloom all those years ago. Well, Hansen has been living large on the basis of his celebrity in scaremongering circles. In addition to his government paycheck Hansen cashed other checks totaling $1.6 million in the last five years. Combine that with over six figures in expenses for travel and hotels to hob nob with fellow rich scaremongers.

With that kind of gravy train, don't expect the global warming scare machine to give up and go home. You can be sure that no matter what the weather is they will claim the end is near if we don't hand over billions more!
