Hoodie Wearing Shooter Kills 1, Wounds 5 in Chicago District Represented by Hoodie Protest Congressman

What a shame Congressman Bobby Rush (D-IL) seems to care more for theatrics in the wake of Trayvon Martin's death than he does for the citizens of his own district!

On Wednesday, Congressman Bobby Rush tried to make a point on the floor of the House of Representatives by violating House rules and wearing a hoodie."Just because someone wears a hoodie does not make them a hoodlum," Rush said before being removed from the floor. Later he claimed that his protest was more important than House rules which govern our government's most democratic body. "Sometimes decorum has to take a back seat," was Rush's response.

Photobucket

One wonders if maybe some of the gang bangers in Rush's Chicago district might have been inspired by his example. One day later, on Thursday, 2 people were killed and 13 others wounded in Chicago with the worst attack occurring in Rep. Rush's district:
The worst shooting occurred around 6 p.m. Thursday when two men in hooded sweatshirts opened fire inside a convenience store in the 1400 block of West 79th Street in the Gresham neighborhood, police said.

One man was killed and five others were wounded. The victims ranged in age from 16 to 24.
Where is the outrage for these young people whose lives were cut short or forever scarred by violence?

6 year old Aliyah Shell, victim of the
Chicago murder spree. Where are the
protests for this young life cut short?
Or what about the 10 killed and 39 wounded in Chicago ten days earlier? All of this carnage is happening in Obama's hometown. Has he spoken out describing how the victims look like they could be his kids? What about 6 year old Aliyah Shell who was playing on the front porch of her home when a gang banger's bullet ended her young life? Where is the outrage?

The sad truth is that there isn't any outrage over these killings and there won't be. Dems and their racebaiting allies can't make political hay off these tragedies the way they did with the death of Trayvon Martin. Dems are registering voters at rallies to protest Trayvon's killing. And Obama's Deputy Campaign Manager accused Republicans of "politicizing" the tragedy.

Along with record high unemployment (14.1% in February) there is an epidemic of violent death crippling minority communities across this nation. Instead of deal effectively and honestly with that crisis, Dems whip up racial frenzy to distract from their failure!

UPDATE: Strip club party for Trayvon Martin canceled. As if you needed another example of how out of control this Trayvon Travesty has become. And it's a safe bet the strip club promoters aren't voting Republican!

UPDATE: Rich Lowry, writing in the NY Post lists more stories of young black lives cut short by gun violence that didn't catch the attention of Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson. Here's an excerpt:
Last year, Charinez Jefferson, 17, was shot and killed on a Chicago street. “She begged the shooter not to shoot her because she was pregnant,” a pastor explained. The alleged assailant, Timothy Jones, 18, shot her in the head, chest and back after seeing her walking with a rival gang member.

New York Times columnist Charles Blow did not write a column about Jefferson’s killing as a symbol of the perils of being a young black woman in America.
...
In January, 12-year-old Kade’jah Davis was shot and killed when, allegedly, 19-year-old Joshua Brown showed up at her Detroit house to demand the return of a cellphone from Davis’ mother. When Brown didn’t get the phone, he fired shots through the front door.

No one held high-profile street protests to denounce gunplay over such trifles.
...
An injustice may well have been done in the handling of the Martin shooting, but let’s not fool ourselves. Zimmerman could be arrested, convicted and hanged tomorrow, and it would have no effect on the lives of young black people in communities beset by social disorder.

Whatever happens to Zimmerman, the drip-drip of spilled blood will continue, all but ignored except in the police blotter.

In America, the lives of young black people are cheap, unless they happen to fit the right agenda.

Will Supreme Court Overturn ObamaCare?

There is no question that the government's case was a disaster. But that doesn't mean the law will be thrown out!
Photobucket
Supreme Court hearing oral argument by Solicitor General Donald Verrilli
Democrats are in a panic over the way ObamaCare was presented to the Supreme Court this week. Whether it's an article in Mother Jones Magazine calling the case a "disaster" or one in the Los Angeles Times openly speculating that ObamaCare is toast, it's clear Dems are upset by the prospect.

It's easy to understand why they are upset. Obama's Solicitor General, Donald Verrilli's performance was embarrassing at best. The Politico speculates that he "choked" and the White House had to come out and say they still had confidence in him. Why the concern? Take a listen to a compilation of his stumbling and studdering. It's worse than Obama without a telepromter:

In another example of how out of his depth the Solicitor General, a former Editor of the Columbia Law Review, was, there was this exchange with Justice Scalia is referred to as a "benchslap" and a schooling on the definition of the 10th Amendment and enumerated powers.

But the question to Verrilli which put the entire case in perspective was the one asked by Justice Kennedy, the court's swing vote:
JUSTICE KENNEDY: Assume for the moment that this is unprecedented, this is a step beyond what our cases have allowed, the affirmative duty to act to go into commerce. If that is so, do you not have a heavy burden of justification?

I understand that we must presume laws are constitutional, but, even so, when you are changing the relation of the individual to the government in this, what we can stipulate is, I think, a unique way, do you not have a heavy burden of justification to show authorization under the Constitution?
I'm reminded of the time a reporter asked former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi if ObamaCare was constitutional. Her indignant response "are you serious?" must be ringing in her ears. Like the rest of the hearing Verrilli had no good answer to that. It's tough to try and sell a bad law to the Supreme Court. The majority of the Justices won't be swayed by media spin or Democrat talking points.

But while the public side of the hearing seems to lean heavily in favor of the Court overturning the law or portions of it, I would caution readers to be wary. The matter is just too close to call and the Justices often have a way of digusing their true intentions when asking questions.

Justice for the Truth and Trayvon Martin

Plus, where is the outrage for the murder of John Sanderson? Or any other victims black or white?  Is Justice no longer color blind?

"A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on."
 - Winston Churchill

Photobucket
John Sanderson. Murdered by
three black males at MSU.
John Sanderson (pictured right) was 21 years old when he was shot and killed by three black males at a dorm room in Mississippi State University last Saturday. His family is bereft with grief and cannot comprehend why such a fine young man with a bright future should be so violently murdered.

There have been no nationwide protests denouncing the senseless slaying. No call for a bounty to bring the suspects to some form of vigilante justice. Just another senseless tragedy, like so many others where the victims are white, black or any other race.

No Justice for the Truth in Trayvon Protests
Photobucket
The two faces of Trayvon. Pictured
left at 12 years old and right at 17 for
profile on his Twitter page.
Consider the contrast with the killing of Trayvon Martin in Florida. The first images plastered all over the news were of an attractive youth. The news narrative was that George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch captain who shot and killed Trayvon did simply because Trayvon was black and appeared suspicious. At a meeting on Capitol Hill in Washington Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA) said  "Trayvon was murdered for walking while black in a gated community." Rep. Johnson's statement is mild compared to what some others in the racebaiting profession are saying. The Black Panthers, a racist organization, has put out a bounty for Zimmerman's capture and said they want him "dead or alive."

It was only later that we learn that the image of this innocent young boy might not be correct. The other photo of Trayvon is more recent and it was attached to his Twitter account which had a thug screen name containing the "n" word. Trayvon's tweets give quite a different picture that that of an innocent young boy. We also learn that Trayvon had been suspended from school three times. Once for possessing what was described as a burglary tool and more recently for having drug paraphernalia.

Trayvon's family complained that the reports which paint a more accurate picture of the boy were an attempt to "demonize" him. But since the instant media narrative that the shooter George Zimmerman was a racist it's only natural for people seeking to understand what happened to look at both sides.

And now that at least one eyewitness has come forward saying that Trayvon attacked Zimmerman, knocked him to the ground and was bashing his head against a sidewalk, those questions become more relevant.

We've Seen this Movie Before

In 2006 white players on the Duke Lacrosse team were accused of rape by a black stripper they hired for a team party. The charges were completely false. But this didn't stop a radical prosecutor, Mike NiFong from destroying the lives of the young men involved. Later, the prosecutor would be disbarred for "dishonesty, fraud, deceit and misrepresentation." Liberal agitators on the Duke campus refused to apologize for their part in hyping the charges. In their mind, the men were guilty of racism no matter what.

Twenty years earlier a young teenager named Tawanna Brawley went missing from a small town in New York state. When she did turn up she accused several white, including a local prosecutor of abducting her and raping her. A Grand Jury found that the charges were false and had no basis in fact. But that hasn't stopped people from continuing the lie. Law professor Patricia Williams stated that Brawley "has been the victim of some unspeakable crime. No matter how she got there. No matter who did it to her and even if she did it to herself."

Al Sharpton, who first rose to fame for inflaming racial hatreds in the Brawley case is front and center in the Trayvon tragedy.

Trayvon Tragedy &Travesty Damages Race Relations

The pattern in the three cases above, Trayvon, Tawanna and Duke Lacrosse is one where no matter what the facts are (or the absence of any), the instant narrative is to assume some racial motive for a crime and then use that assumption to generate outrage among those who show no interest in the facts or any real sense of justice. And with a "news" media that is largely acting as an accomplice in the effort by putting out pictures of a 12 year old boy it's easy to understand why the tactic works.

How ironic that the same people protesting poor race relations are themselves engaged in an emotional, fact-free campaign which only damages race relations. Sadly, the lesson to wait until the facts are clear is lost and the damage is real and lasting!

UPDATE: Obama Campaign Manager Claims GOP is "Politicizing" Trayvon Tragedy. Really?

What a joke. Stephanie Cutter, Obama's Deputy Campaign Manager said on MSNBC that Republicans are "politicizing" the Trayvon story. Considering how Obama inserted himself in the story early on with his comment that ""If I Had A Son, He'd Look Like Trayvon." Then, we learn that as the hoodie protest grows across the country Obama's campaign starts selling hoodies.

And of course let's not forget about the parade of the usual Dem suspects who can whip themselves into a frenzy over any racial issue at the drop of a hoodie! The latest is Rep. Bobby Rush, former Black Panther and Chicago politician, who took to the floor of the House of Representatives on Wednesday in a hoodie and sunglasses violating House rules. In explaining why he violated the rules, Rep. Rush said "sometimes decorum has to take a back seat." Imagine the uproar if ANY Republican said his or her issue was more important than the rules govering the conduct of our most democratic government body.

What About the other "Trayvons?"

Juan Williams writing in the Wall Street Journal:
While civil rights leaders have raised their voices to speak out against this one tragedy, few if any will do the same about the larger tragedy of daily carnage that is black-on-black crime in America.

The most recent comprehensive study on black-on-black crime from the Justice Department should have been a clarion call for the black community to take action. There is no reason to believe that the trends it reported have decreased since 2005, the year for which the data were reported.

Almost one half of the nation's murder victims that year were black and a majority of them were between the ages of 17 and 29. Black people accounted for 13% of the total U.S. population in 2005. Yet they were the victims of 49% of all the nation's murders. And 93% of black murder victims were killed by other black people, according to the same report.
Dems distraction from a nationwide disgrace: Black Unemployment Rose to 14.1% in February! Up a full half point from January. Now you know why Obama and the Dems would rather be talking about hoodies and Trayvon Martin rather than admitting that their economic failure has kept blacks trapped in an abysmal economic nightmare!

Former V.P. Dick Cheney has Heart Transplant

And predictably, many of the same liberals who dumped on Rush Limbaugh for offensive speech are first in line saying the most vile things about Cheney!
(CBS News) Former Vice President Dick Cheney received a heart transplant on Saturday, his office announced.

A statement from the former vice president's office said the 71-year-old is now recovering in the intensive care unit of Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Va., outside Washington.

The statement said Cheney had been on the transplant list for 20 months and did not know the identity of the donor.

"Although the former vice president and his family do not know the identity of the donor, they will be forever grateful for this lifesaving gift," the statement read.

Cheney, who served as President George W. Bush's vice president from 2001 to 2009, has a long history of heart problems. He suffered his first heart attack at age 37 and his fifth in 2010. In 1988, he underwent quadruple bypass surgery and has had several other heart surgeries since then, including multiple angioplasties and the implantation of a pacemaker.

List: Cheney's heart problems since 1978

In 2010, he had a battery-powered heart pump known as a Left Ventricular Assist Device implanted to keep his heart working - a device that is often used for short periods by patients awaiting a transplant.

In an interview early last year, Cheney called the heart pump a "wondrous device," but said that it made it "awkward to walk around." The device, which takes over the job of the heart's main pumping chamber, is powered by batteries worn in a fanny pack.

Left on Cue: Hate Speech for Cheney and Family

I'm sure it won't surprise readers that many of the same people who have been so outspoken in condemning Rush's Limbaugh's poor choice of words in describing contraception activist Sandra Fluke are front and center in spitting hate at the former Vice President and his family at this critical time.

Funny how the people who demand a civil public discourse can so instantly go off the deep end of hate with comments at Democrat's Underground like the one suggesting the donor heart was ripped from the body by Cheney's wife Lynne or daughter Liz.

I wish Dick Cheney a speedy and full recovery. What a shame those who constantly demand civility in our public discourse cannot do the same!

Your Tax Dollars at Work: 8th Grade Teacher Instructs Class to Research Weak Points of GOP Presidential Candidates

And then to forward their research to the Obama campaign.

Imagine the hell that would break loose if a public school teacher asked students to do do opposition research exclusively directed at undermining Obama's re-election. Can you just hear the howling from the perpetually aggrieved? It would be front page news coast to coast and on every evening newscast.

Apparently it's no big deal when a teacher uses his class to focus solely on researching and disseminating weak points of Republican candidates.

Of course this is nothing new for public schools where Obama indoctrination isn't unheard of. At least they are not forcing the students to perform the Hopey Changey Obama song.

But I'd like to give the teacher the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps he didn't include Obama in the assignment because he didn't want to  his students to be contaminated by the knowledge of Obama's radical past and his associations with Rev. Wright, Father Pfleger, Bill Ayers, Tony Rezko. Discovering Obama is a closet Marxist from a corrupt Chicago political tradition might shake the young student's faith in democracy. After all, if they knew who and what Obama really was, they would want to know why Americans voted for him in the first place!

The Reality Gap in Obama's Energy Policy

Claiming he's for "all of the above" for energy when he's blocking all but green energy is not the solution America needs!

Obama is out there again trying to convince people who don't pay close attention that he really, REALLY is doing everything he can to lower gas prices and get the energy America needs to grow and get back to work.

Part of his campaign was a visit to Cushing, Oklahoma on Thursday where he stood in front of pipe equipment and claimed he was all for pipelines. That was a bit too much for one commenter who said "it takes a special kind of politician to be able to hold a photo-op for a project he’s rejected – twice – and personally lobbied members of Congress to block."

Photobucket
Political Farce: Obama in Cushing, OK trying to convince Americans he is for oil pipelines when he's worked not once, not twice, but three times to block the Keystone project.

The focus of Obama's visit to Cushing was to try and claim credit for the building of the tail end of the Keystone pipeline. But well informed readers will remember that this portion of the line does not require the same level of federal approval as the major portion of the pipeline that altogether would bring more than one million barrels of oil per day into the U.S. from Canada supplying approximately 5% of our daily needs.

The problem with Obama's photo op in Cushing is that he's done everything he could to block completion of the pipeline. The following graphic from House Speaker John Boehner's office shows the gap between Obama's rhetoric and reality. Move your cursor over the graphic for more info.

Keystone just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to blocking energy

Funny, but a President who says he is for "all of the above" when it comes to energy sure does spend a lot of time trying to block new energy projects. Whether it's regulatory handcuffs by government agencies or the actions of Obama's environmental activist allies, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce put together the following map showing where energy projects have been stalled or killed. Check the Chamber's web site to see what projects in your state are being blocked.

Energy projects blocked or killed by government or environmental activism.
Obama's answer to America's energy needs? How about a solar electricity producer that relies on federal subsidies to create five jobs to the tune of $10 million per job? Does that sound like a sustainable program for America's future?

Song Says "Kill Rush Limbaugh" Where Are the Civility Police?

Or did this group also donate money to Obama's campaign?

Well, this shouldn't surprise anyone. We all know the drill by now. Whenever any Republican or conservative says something that offends or could be twisted to be considered marginally threatening the civility police descend to condemn not only that individual but the entire movement of like minded persons.

And we are not surprised when Obama and his fellow hand wringers don't seem the least bit bothered when their friends and allies say or do far worse. They'll still take the campaign donation no matter how sleazy the person who donates it.

But just keep in mind Obama's words regarding the Rush/Sandra Fluke flap: “All decent folks can agree, that the remarks that were made don’t have any place in the public discourse." What do you bet we hear nothing but silence from Obama over this?

KILL RUSH LIMBAUGH, the song now playing on Facebook and You Tube. Imagine the hell that would erupt on every newscast and in every newspaper if any Republican said anything remotely like that about a person on the left.

And if some deranged person would take the song's message to heart and act on it we can bet that many of these same civility police would stand up and publicly cheer.
I'll keep saying this, not that it will make the slightest difference to those on the left, but there will be no improvement in the quality of our public discourse as long as those on the left continue to be exempted from the same standards of civility and conduct that they daily demand from those on the right.

But I suppose the broader problem is that those on the left really don't care about civility except as a punching bag with which to beat up the right. When it comes down to it, the ONLY principle the left has is the acquisition and wielding of political power. There is no other end for them but that!

Global Warmer Proposes U.N. Dictator As Climate Change Solution

At least one of the Warmers finally admitted what their real goal is!

Writing at Scientific American, Gary Stix says that the real problem in dealing with global warming isn't the solution (radical control on carbon emissions that would negatively impact every American) but the power to control the human element, or as Stix calls it "social engineering."

If that phrase didn't set off alarm bells Stix goes further. His idea is to force people to believe and to act on what he and the others Warmers insist is the urgency of the global warming crisis. And to accomplish that change in human behavior Stix proposes an authoritarian global government.
To be effective, a new set of institutions would have to be imbued with heavy-handed, transnational enforcement powers. There would have to be consideration of some way of embracing head-in-the-cloud answers to social problems that are usually dismissed by policymakers as academic naivete. In principle, species-wide alteration in basic human behaviors would be a sine qua non, but that kind of pronouncement also profoundly strains credibility in the chaos of the political sphere. Some of the things that would need to be contemplated: How do we overcome our hard-wired tendency to “discount” the future: valuing what we have today more than what we might receive tomorrow? Would any institution be capable of instilling a permanent crisis mentality lasting decades, if not centuries? How do we create new institutions with enforcement powers way beyond the current mandate of the U.N.? Could we ensure against a malevolent dictator who might abuse the power of such organizations?
Stix worries about a "malevolent dictator" abusing these "heavy-handed, transnational enforcement powers" whose goal is "species-wide alteration in basic human behaviors." But could such power be anything but malevolent? Who would decide where the line was drawn between a benevolent dictatorship and a malevolent one? Both would sacrifice our freedom and our even our national character on the altar of some unaccountable world government imbued with the power of mind control and presumably punishment for disbelievers.

Since the beginning of time various demented ideologies throughout history have sought one thing: world domination. In the 20th Century fascism and communism both made their bids for ultimate power and the result was the deaths of tens of millions. Now, the Warmers are taking their shot at it. Since history repeats itself, we can only conclude that the result will be the same.

One more thing. Even if we followed the Warmer's CO2 demands to the letter there is not one credible scientist who can truthfully say such a move would alter the climate trajectory in any significant way. There just is no link between CO2 and global warming.

Follow the Money

Why is Obama so big on algae as a fuel? Apparently algae energy developers have paved Obama's way with another kind of green!
Photobucket

So why did Obama suddenly elevate pond scum in the national discussion on energy? It's nothing more than the old Chicago story of pay to play. Michelle Malkin details how hundreds of thousands in contributions to Democrats turned into millions for green energy firms pushing algae as a fuel alternative.

And just how cost effective are these biofuels? How does $16 a gallon sound to you?

Question: How much of that $16 a gallon being spent by the government for Obama's "green fuel" is going right back to the Democrat Party in campaign contributions? For extra credit, how much of your monthly energy bill do you want to go to pay off Democrat politicians?

With New Ad Campaign, Environmental Group Reveals Focus is on Politics, Not Saving the Planet

But scaremongering will remain focus of group's ads no matter how badly tarnished global warming message has become!

Every so often you come across a story in the mainstream media which lets the liberal cat out of the bag. This story does just that:
'Global warming' gets a rebranding
By: Erica Martinson and Jonathan Allen
Politico
March 21, 2012

Shhhh! Don’t talk about global warming!

There’s been a change in climate for Washington’s greenhouse gang, and they’ve come to this conclusion: To win, they have to talk about other topics, like gas prices and kids choking on pollutants.

More than two years since Democrats’ cap-and-trade plan died in Congress, the strategic shift represents a reluctant acknowledgment from environmentalists that they’ve lost ground by tackling global warming head-on. Their best bet now lies in a bit of a bait and switch: Help elect global warming fighters by basing campaigns on kitchen-table issues.

“You don’t have to be James Carville to figure out that talking about people’s health and the health of their children … is going to make a difference to the average voter,” Daniel Weiss, director of climate strategy at the Center for American Progress Action Fund, said.
...
Earlier this month, the Sierra Club and Natural Resources Defense Council made a seven-figure ad buy in swing states featuring young children with asthma inhalers making their way through the Capitol.

“We’re going to talk a lot about the health implications of dirty air,” said Heather Taylor, director of NRDC’s political arm. “I think that the Midwest is one of those places where [there are] a million great clean energy stories, especially. And they’re not being told right now, because we’ve tended to be in other markets. That’s an area where we feel like it’s time to go tell those stories.”
Here's the Sierra Club/NRDC ad. Nothing new here. Environmental groups have made a specialty of developing scaremongering campaigns featuring children. Who can forget the runaway freight train headed straight for a little girl in the 2006 ad from the Environmental Defense Fund. Or how about the little girl being read a bedtime climate change horror story with the evil monster CO2 drowning her pets?

And of course there are the efforts by the National Wildlife Federation and the World Wildlife Fund to scare children into thinking that the polar bears are drowning. Then, there is my personal favorite for scaring the kiddies: Santa isn't coming to town next Christmas. He's going to drown because the North Pole is melting (it's not).

Despite phony scares, air quality is better than ever

The latest Sierra Club ad, like all the rest, is nothing but a flat out lie. Using children with asthma inhalers in a commercial is the worst form of propaganda because there simply is no crisis in children's health related to air quality.

Witness Air Quality Trends from the United States Environmental Protection Agency. In every category over the last thirty years pollutants have dramatically decreased.

Photobucket
Source: Air Quality Trends, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency

So why the scaremongering ads? Simple. All of these ads are for one purpose only. To raise money to advance a left wing political agenda that has more to do with acquiring political power than it does with saving the planet.

What's more shameful and disgusting than using children for a scaremongering campaign? How about wasting billions, even trillions, on a phony global warming fraud when the real human needs of children across the planet are crying out in the areas of poverty, disease, literacy and quality of life. Wouldn't the world be a better place if the global warmers devoted their resources to helping children instead of scaring them?

It's Official: In Three Years Obama Added More Debt Than 8 Years Under Bush

Remember that Obama called Bush's debt run up "irresponsible...unpatriotic!"

Oh, what a great advertisement this will make for the fall presidential campaign:

Obama, July 3, 2008: The problem is, is that the way Bush has done it over the last eight years is to take out a credit card from the Bank of China in the name of our children, driving up our national debt from $5 trillion for the first 42 presidents - #43 added $4 trillion by his lonesome, so that we now have over $9 trillion of debt that we are going to have to pay back -- $30,000 for every man, woman and child. That's irresponsible. It's unpatriotic.
Well, if Bush's debt increase for eight years was unpatriotic and irresponsible then what about this?

Photobucket
(CBS News) The National Debt has now increased more during President Obama's three years and two months in office than it did during 8 years of the George W. Bush presidency.

The Debt rose $4.899 trillion during the two terms of the Bush presidency. It has now gone up $4.939 trillion since President Obama took office.
....
The National Debt also now exceeds 100% of the nation's Gross Domestic Product, the total value of goods and services.

Mr. Obama has been quick to blame his predecessor for the soaring Debt, saying Mr. Bush paid for two wars and a Medicare prescription drug program with borrowed funds.

The federal budget sent to Congress last month by Mr. Obama, projects the National Debt will continue to rise as far as the eye can see. The budget shows the Debt hitting $16.3 trillion in 2012, $17.5 trillion in 2013 and $25.9 trillion in 2022.
...
Mr. Obama doesn't mention the National Debt much, though he does want to be seen trying to reduce the annual budget deficit, though it's topped a trillion dollars for four years now.

As part of his "Win the Future" program, Mr. Obama called for "taking responsibility for our deficits, by cutting wasteful, excessive spending wherever we find it."
...

If Mr. Obama wins re-election, and his budget projections prove accurate, the National Debt will top $20 trillion in 2016, the final year of his second term. That would mean the Debt increased by 87 percent, or $9.34 trillion, during his two terms.
There is no question that Obama is the biggest big spender of all time. And what did we get for it? Billions spent on a stimulus that didn't stimulate. Billions for "green jobs" where the firms went bankrupt. Billions to prop up Big Labor and Obama's campaign contributors.

All the while unemployment remains at record levels along with gas prices and the average American gets squeezed even more.

We're living in Obama's epic fail and there is only one cure and it's coming this November!

Obama Offers Misleading Statements and Campaign Politics Instead of Viable Energy Policy

The Campaigner in Chief just can't stop repeating the same phony election year rhetoric no matter how absurd he appears!

Ask your Obama loving friends this question: How many years of domestic supply of oil exist in the United States?

A. Less than 20 years.
B. Less than 50 years.
C. Less than 100 years.
D. More than 100 years.

If they answer anything but D they have likely been listening to Obama's speeches on energy. On Thursday Obama gave yet another energy speech to a hastily assembled crowd at Prince George's Community College in Largo, Maryland, a suburb of Washington, D.C. For this handpicked audience he got the crowd all fired up with the same recycled rhetoric he has used on countless other occasions.

He repeated his now famous "no silver bullet" solution line. It's one he has used over and over and over again (see the video). You'd think he could come up with some new material but apparently repetition is easier for Obama than actually coming up with effective policy to address critical challenges like high gas prices.

Once again, Obama claimed that his Administration has opened up vast new areas for oil exploration but ignores the fact that agencies under his control have slow walked permit approval to the point where energy companies are handcuffed in their search for new resources. Behind the scenes, the Obama Administration is doing everything they can to restrict development of new petroleum resources. The fact is that the only area in which U.S. production of energy is growing is in the private sector where government is less of a factor.

Next Obama launches into his favorite milieu, the setting up of phony straw men arguments that are designed to make his critics appear ridiculous even though no one is actually suggesting what he is saying. Here's an excerpt:
So do not tell me that we’re not drilling. (Applause.) We’re drilling all over this country. (Applause.) I guess there are a few spots where we’re not drilling. We’re not drilling in the National Mall. (Laughter.) We’re not drilling at your house. (Laughter.) I guess we could try to have, like, 200 oil rigs in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay.
But this straw man is just the set up for a whopper that Obama is doubling down on in speech after speech. The latest version:
There’s a problem with a strategy that only relies on drilling and that is, America uses more than 20 percent of the world’s oil. If we drilled every square inch of this country -- so we went to your house and we went to the National Mall and we put up those rigs everywhere -- we’d still have only 2 percent of the world’s known oil reserves. Let’s say we miss something -- maybe it’s 3 percent instead of 2. We’re using 20; we have 2.
Saying we only have 2% of world reserves is misleading. It gives the impression that we have very little oil when the fact is we have more than Saudi Arabia. Obama's own Energy Information Agency (EIA) describes known reserves this way: "proved reserves are an accounting concept that is based on known projects and is not an appropriate measure for judging total resource availability in the long-term." Perhaps the EIA needs to send the White House a note on the subject.

The Washington Post Fact Checker couldn't bring themselves to say Obama lied about U.S. oil resources. But in a rather tortured explanation they found his claims to be "True but False." Sort of like Dan Rather's "fake but accurate?"

Investor's Business Daily put it all in perspective with this story and the following chart:

Photobucket

American oil use has leveled off at somewhat less than 20 million barrels per day. With TRILLIONS of barrels in petroleum resources we have a supply that can last for hundreds of years. Plenty of time to develop Obama's favorite alternative, algae, as a long term replacement. That is unless by then we are all flying spaceships using air for fuel.

For Obama, Gas Price is a Political Football

One last point from Obama's speech:
OBAMA: And every time prices start to go up -- especially in an election year -- politicians dust off their 3-point plans for $2.00 gas. (Laughter.) I guess this year they decided, we're going to make it $2.50. (Laughter.) I don't know where -- why not $2.40? (Laughter.) Why not $2.10? (Laughter.) But they tell the same story. They head down to the gas station; they make sure a few cameras are following them -- (laughter) -- and then they start acting like we've got a magic wand and we will give you cheap gas forever if you just elect us. (Laughter.) Every time. Been the same script for 30 years. It's like a bad rerun. (Laughter.)
Obama's "bad rerun"

From a 2008 campaign event in Kokomo Indiana:
Photobucket
Candidate Obama Uses Kokomo, Indiana gas station as campaign prop in 2008. Check out the sign. Gas then was $3.55. At the same station now gas is over $3.80
"Everywhere I go in Indiana and across this country, I'm talking to folks who are working harder and harder just to get by," said Obama.

"We need a president who's looking out for families in Indiana, not just what's good for multi-national corporations. And that's the kind of president I intend to be," said Obama.

"At a time when our economy is in turmoil and wages are stagnant, hardworking families are struggling to meet rising costs, and few costs are rising faster than the ones people pay at the pump," he said.

Now, four years later America's "struggling families" already reeling from record sustained high unemployment are paying even higher prices for gas than four years ago when Obama used Joe's Junction gas station as a campaign prop. And since taking office, Obama's policies have made the situation MUCH WORSE!

Oil from Strategic Reserve Not a Solution to High Gas Prices

Too bad Obama has vetoed the long term energy solutions that WOULD lower gas prices!

How many times in the last week have we heard some variation from the White House that Obama is not to blame for high gas prices? According to Obama's apologists, it's not his fault and he can't do much to change the situation. Here's Obama in his own words recycling the same rhetoric that there is "no silver bullet" to bring down energy prices:

Obama to release oil from Strategic Reserve?

Even though Obama has repeatedly said that high gas prices are not his fault and claimed that he can't do much to help, the political ground has shifted under Obama's feet and all of a sudden his Administration is talking about a release from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. The Reserve is intended for disruptions in supply during a national emergency and could pump more than 4 million barrels of oil per day into the U.S. system (Dept. of Energy fact sheet). But depleting the reserve is only a short term solution and supplies that are drawn down would have to be replaced at much higher cost.

Keystone Pipeline 1.29 Million Barrels of Oil Per Day. Every Day for Decades!

A more effective long term solution would be to approve the Keystone XL Pipeline [fact sheet] which at peak capacity can provide 1.29 million barrels of oil per day. Bringing that supply into the U.S. from Canada would alleviate any short term market disruptions and help to ease pressure on higher prices. And unlike a short term release from the reserve, Keystone is a pipeline that would operate for decades.

But instead of supporting the pipeline Obama has gone out of his way to stall approval with an eye towards appeasing hard left environmentalist supporters.

A short term release from the Strategic Reserve won't do anything to tackle the long term problem of rising energy prices. What's needed is a REAL "all of the above" plan, not more of Obama's political posturing and half measures!

Surprise Surprise! Obama Care to Cost Nearly DOUBLE Original Projection

What do you bet it costs TRIPLE or more?

We warned America this was coming. From Phillip Klein at the Washington Examiner:
President Obama's national health care law will cost $1.76 trillion over a decade, according to a new projection released today by the Congressional Budget Office, rather than the $940 billion forecast when it was signed into law.

Democrats employed many accounting tricks when they were pushing through the national health care legislation, the most egregious of which was to delay full implementation of the law until 2014, so it would appear cheaper under the CBO's standard ten-year budget window and, at least on paper, meet Obama's pledge that the legislation would cost "around $900 billion over 10 years." When the final CBO score came out before passage, critics noted that the true 10 year cost would be far higher than advertised once projections accounted for full implementation.

Today, the CBO released new projections from 2013 extending through 2022, and the results are as critics expected: the ten-year cost of the law's core provisions to expand health insurance coverage has now ballooned to $1.76 trillion. That's because we now have estimates for Obamacare's first nine years of full implementation, rather than the mere six when it was signed into law. Only next year will we get a true ten-year cost estimate, if the law isn't overturned by the Supreme Court or repealed by then. Given that in 2022, the last year available, the gross cost of the coverage expansions are $265 billion, we're likely looking at about $2 trillion over the first decade, or more than double what Obama advertised.

UPDATE: I've done another post with additional details from the CBO report.

I'm reminded of Gomer Pyle's famous line "surprise, surprise!" (go ahead, play the audio). But it's not really a surprise is it? Knowing that entitlement programs ALWAYS cost much, much more than projected this news is just par for the course.

But it does put the lie to Obama's claim that his health care plan was fiscally responsible. Again, no surprise there either!

Dem Congresswomen, Vocal Critics of Rush Limbaugh, Silent on Hate Speech from Bill Maher

Not that anyone really thought their criticism of Rush was based on anything but pure politics!

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was highly critical of Rush Limbaugh after he called contraception activist Sandra Fluke a "prostitute" and a "slut." She told one interviewer: "I wouldn’t want those words repeated in my office."

In an orchestrated campaign, female Democrats in the House of Representatives followed Pelosi's lead and found their way to the microphones to trash Rush. Rep Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) made a strong statement condemning Rush as did Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX).

Knowing that Bill Maher has said things far worse about Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann, a citizen journalist videoblogging at Frank Strategies tracked down former Speaker Pelosi in the halls of congress and asked whether she also condemned Maher's statements. Silence was the only answer.

The same in the following exchange with both Reps. Jackson Lee and Schakowsky. Watch:

REPORTER: Congresswoman, quick question. I know you’ve been outspoken about Rush Limbaugh; in light of Bill Maher’s comments that Sarah Palin is a “cunt” and “dumb twat,” are you going to call on Obama’s Super PAC to return the million dollars they got from Bill Maher? And if not, why not?

REPORTER: Why are you refusing to condemn that remark, ma’am? Do you find that okay? That discourse?

REPORTER: Congresswoman, quick question. I know you’ve put out a statement about Rush Limbaugh, condemning his remarks, understandably. Have you put out a similar statement calling on the president’s Super PAC to return the $1 million that he got from Bill Maher? Why not? Is that an acceptable thing to call a woman?

REPORTER: Why won’t you speak out? Isn’t misogyny misogyny no matter which side does it?

"Why won’t you speak out? Isn’t misogyny misogyny no matter which side does it?" Well, that pretty much sums it up. It's obvious from watching the tape and from the silence that descends when left wing hate speech is put under the spot light that these Democrat women don't really care what vile names you call a Republican woman. This isn't about respect for women. It's all about politics.

As I have said on so many similar occasions there will never be any improvement in the quality of  public discourse if Democrats continue to exempt their own from the same standards they daily demand of Republicans.

Thanks Red Hunter for finding the video!

Promises, Promises. Charting Obama's Epic Fail

Contrast his promises with his record with these graphs!

So far we're gearing up for election day with the famous "Obama by the Numbers chart" followed by the equally useful list of items from "If the economy is really so great then why is...." topped off with the fully documented list of Obama's Epic Fail, a fulsome series of stats, all well documented, showing why Obama's presidency is a failure by every measure imagineable.

But sometimes, it helps to step back from all that number crunching and put it all in simple, easy to understand at a glance charts.

Share these with your friends who pay more attention to pop culture than they do to politics and see if a light bulb doesn't come on for them. Hopefully that light bulb won't be one of Obama's new $50 "green" bulbs....

Employment FAIL!

Obama promised that if we gave him what he wanted for the nearly $TRILLION stimulus bill in early 2009 that unemployment would not go above 8%. A $TRILLION later and it's stuck at 8.3%.

Photobucket

Health Insurance FAIL!

Obama repeatedly promised that if we adopted his health care plan that the average family would save $2,500 a year by the end of his first term. Instead of the price coming down, health insurance rates are skyrocketing almost as fast as electric rates and gasoline:

Photobucket
Notice that premiums dropped all during the Bush years. Remember that next time Obama asks if you want to go "back to the failed policies of the past."

Now, Obama's spokesperson says that the savings will be less than $2,000 and won't materialize until 2019 at the earliest!

Fiscal Responsiblity Fail!

When Obaam first came into office he and his team talked about a "new era of fiscal responsiblity." Keep in mind that Obama called $4 trillion added to the national debt under George Bush "unpatriotic." Obama has blown the lid off the debt chart:
Photobucket

Gas Price FAIL!

Four years ago then candidate Obama was leading the charge for Democrats criticizing Bush for high gas prices. Now, he says that the President plays little role in managing gas prices. But back then, people like Peggy Joseph thought Obama was there to help. Remember this?

How's that working out for you Peggy?

During the 2008 campaign the Obama team put out an impressive energy proposal which stated that Barack Obama has a comprehensive energy plan that provides immediate relief to struggling familes," and promised to "provide short-term relief to American families facing pain at the pump." In that same policy statement he signaled that he would  "confront[] our dependence on foreign oil." Instead, he's shut down American oil development on federal lands and made us more vulnerable to price shocks in the overseas petroleum market. Click on points in the following interactive chart and decide for yourself whether Obama is to blame for high gas prices:

We'll keep adding new charts and stats as we get nearer to the campaign. The message is clear, Obama's presidency has been an EPIC FAILURE!

Video Exposes Dem Hypocrisy on Hate Speech Towards Women

And just look how closely Obama and top Dems have associated themselves with the haters!

Earlier this week I posted on Obama's press conference where he said the was thinking of his daughters and how he wouldn't want them attacked or called names for "being good citizens." This was another attempt to gin up anger towards Rush Limbaugh for calling contraception activist a "prostitute." Obama went on to say that “All decent folks can agree, that the remarks that were made don’t have any place in the public discourse."

I went on to contrast how comedian Bill Maher and others closely associated with Democrats (Bill Maher brags about giving $1 million to help Obama's re-election campaign) are given a pass by Obama and the Democrats.

But there's nothing like a well made video to make that case with words and pictures. The following is from ShePac.com which represents conservative women in politics. WARNING, some of the language is vile and offensive:

Did you notice Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL), Chair of the Democrat National Committee and a frequent finger pointer at Republicans when it comes to civility appearing on Bill Maher's show? And of course I hope you didn't miss Obama's appearances on Letterman.

One Small Glimmer of Hope: Vile Comedian Withdraws from Radio/Tv Dinner

The Radio and Television Correspondents Association, a Washington based group of media and journalists had invited a comedian Louis C.K. to be the headliner at their annual dinner in June. Here are some of the things C.K. has said about Sarah Palin:
Gretawire: Louis C.K. says of Palin: “her f*** retard making c***” and “the baby that just came out of her f**** disgusting c***.”
To Palin: just “stick your t** in its mouth and shut up.”
And here is more: ”…her f***** retard making c****”
Need more to convince you? Here is what he says on twitter:
“I want to rub my father’s c*** all over Sarah Palin’s fat t***”
By the way, there is more, lots more.
Fortunately, due to the controversy, Louis C.K. has withdrawn from participation in the dinner. But it's a sign of the one sided concern over civility that someone with such a record of hate speech would have been invited in the first place by a left leaning organization.

As I have said numerous times in the past nothing will ever change as long as those on the left are exempt from the standards they daily demand of those on the right. And considering how much more vile the comments coming from the left are compared to what Rush Limbaugh or others on the right have said I see no chance of any improvement in public discourse any time soon!

Obama's Answer to Skyrocketing Electricity Prices: An Energy Saving Light Bulb that Costs $50

Oh, but it creates "green jobs" and is government subsidized!

Earlier this week I posted the story about how electricity rates have "necessarily skyrocketed" (Obama's words) in the age of Obama's wonderful transition to "green" alternatives. In states adopting Obama's green energy plan electricity rates have gone up between 32% and 54%.

That extra burden on families already struggling with high energy prices and unemployment is staggering; especially for the poor.

Well, the next step in Obama's green energy revolution is a light bulb whose price is astronomical. And yes, like the Chevy Volt, a car no one wants to buy, your light bulb will be subsidized by the government. But it will still cost $50. The Washington Post has the story.

The new bulb is supposed to be an alternative to the compact fluorescent bulbs that contain toxic mercury and never last the years of operating life that was promised (a third of mine are already dead). But at $50 each how could a family afford to replace the bulbs in their home?

I'm all in favor of new technology that is practical and cost effective. Yet what we see with this latest "green" bulb is a government that is out of touch with the economic reality facing most families!

Obama Promotes "All of the Above" Energy Strategy While Lobbying to Block Keystone Pipeline

A perfect illustration of why Obama is NOT interested in lowering gas prices!

Obama was in North Carolina on Wednesday talking about his "all of the above" energy policy. Here is what the White House blog had to say about the trip:
Today, President Obama made a trip to a manufacturing plant for Daimler Trucks North America in Mount Holly, North Carolina. He was in the Tar Heel state to discuss more ways his administration is taking an all-of-the-above approach to American energy.

He talked about how his administration is pursuing new domestic energy sources, expanding oil and gas production, and reducing our overall reliance on oil through development of renewable energy.
Really? Obama is pursing an "all of the above" energy policy? Then explain this:
President Barack Obama is intervening in a Senate fight over the Keystone XL oil pipeline and personally lobbying Democrats to reject an amendment calling for its construction, according to several sources familiar with the talks. The White House lobbying effort, including phone calls from the president to Democrats, signals that the vote could be close when it heads to the floor Thursday. The president is trying to defeat an amendment that would give election-year fodder to his Republican critics who have accused him of blocking a job-creating energy project at a time of high gas prices.” (POLITICO, 3/7/12)
Under management by the Obama Administration oil and gas production on federal lands (30% of all land in the U.S. is owned by the government) is down 40% due to restrictive Administration policies. Blocking the Keystone pipeline is just another example of ways Obama is restricting development of available North American petroleum and the jobs that go with it.

Obama's "all of the above" strategy is predicated on restricting new supplies of petroleum leaving us more dependent on higher cost oil from overseas! And Obama claims he is not responsible for higher gas prices? Please!

Under Obama Electricty Rates Have "Necessarily Skyrocketed"

It's one of the few promises Obama has kept!

Remember this?

Then candidate Obama met with the
San Francisco Chronicle editorial board in January 2008:

"Under my plan of a cap-and-trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket," Obama told the Chronicle . "Coal-powered plants, you know, natural gas, you name it, whatever the plants were, whatever the industry was, they would have to retrofit their operations. That will cost money. They will pass that money on to consumers."

Congress, even one controlled by Democrats refused to pass Obama's Cap and Trade bill, but like other aspects of Obama's anti-constitutional reign, he usually finds a way to get what he wants.

In this case, he has thus far succeeded in forcing "green" energy down our throats putting the bite on every single American family already struggling with unemployment and high gas prices. Liz Peek writing in the Fiscal Times summarizes a new study on green energy:
A new report from Robert Bryce of the Manhattan Institute details the harm done by the fanciful quest for clean energy at any price. Mr. Bryce has studied the impact of so-called “renewable portfolio standards” (RPS) – the kind of directive that Mr. Obama wants to set for the entire nation -- on the 29 states that have adopted these required minimum mandates for “green” energy. He finds that forcing utilities to buy wind and solar energy drives up electricity costs and slows growth. Specifically, in the states adopting RPS, electricity costs were on average 32 percent higher than in states without such mandates. In coal-dependent states, the damage is even worse; in the past decade, those regions have suffered a 54 percent hike in electricity costs.

In his 2011 State of the Union address, President Obama called for a renewable portfolio standard for the entire country – 80 percent to come from clean energy by 2035. Can our country afford to ladle sharply higher power costs on citizens and businesses?
From Byrce's study comes this conclusion:
The mandates amount to a "back-end way to put a price on carbon," says one former federal regulator. Put another way, the higher cost of electricity is essentially a de facto carbon-reduction tax, one that is putting a strain on a struggling economy and is falling most heavily, in the way that regressive taxes do, on the least well-off among residential users.
...
Our study highlights another pattern as well, of a disconnect between the optimistic estimates by government policymakers of the impact that the mandates will have on rates and the harsh reality of the soaring rates that typically result. In some states, the implementation of mandate levels is proceeding so rapidly that residential and commercial users are being locked into exorbitant rates for many years to come. The experiences of Oregon, California, and Ontario (which is subject to a similar mandate plan) serve as case studies of how rates have spiraled.

Let's repeat a portion of that last paragraph: "a disconnect between the optimistic estimates by government policymakers of the impact that the mandates will have on rates and the harsh reality of the soaring rates that typically result." Isn't that always the case when government interferes in the normal economic cycle? Rosy projections usually turn sour but only after the damage is done and it's too late to go back. But don't say we didn't warn you.

No one is surprised that Obama would take a "back door" approach to get what he wants. Also, I doubt that few are surprised that his policy did actually succeed in forcing electricity rates to "skyrocket." But just remember that even though you may be having trouble paying the electric bill while putting gas in the car and feeding your family it's for your own good. Obama said so!

Obama Wants Civility for His Daughters From Right Wing Critics but Not from Left Wing Supporters

Would it be OK if a Democrat called one of his daughters an insulting name?
So, Tuesday afternoon rolls around and Obama was still making hay over the Rush Limbaugh slip of calling contraception activist Sandra Fluke a "prostitute." Again, he stands at the White House podium wagging his finger to denounce Rush Limbaugh:
Obama Says Limbaugh Remarks Had No Place in Public Discourse
Says He Thought of His Daughters When He Called Sandra Fluke
By Sophie Quinton
National Journal
March 6, 2012

President Obama said on Tuesday that called Georgetown Law student Sandra Fluke because he wanted to set an example for his daughters, and young people in general, after conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh called Fluke names.

"The reason that I called Ms. Fluke is that I thought about Malia and Sasha," Obama told a news conference.

"I want them to be able to speak their mind in a civil and thoughtful way, and I don’t want them attacked, or called horrible names, because they’re being good citizens. And I thought Sandra should know that I thought her parents should be proud of her."

Fluke made national headlines when she testified in support of the administration's decision to require all employers to provide contraceptive care as part of health insurance coverage, with "accommodations" for religiously affiliated employers.

Limbaugh has since apologized for singling out Fluke for her testimony, after he called her a "prostitute" and a "slut". Obama called her last week to show his support.

“All decent folks can agree, that the remarks that were made don’t have any place in the public discourse," Obama said.

Well, if Rush calling Sandra Fluke a "prostitute" for deliberately setting up the issue of contraception at Georgetown Law (she choose Georgetown after knowing that they did not offer free contraceptives) then how does Obama feel about the hate speech his supporters direct at conservative women?

Kirsten Powers writing at the Daily Beast catalogs examples of left wing hate speech that are far worse than what Limbaugh said about Fluke:
During the 2008 election Ed Schultz said on his radio show that Sarah Palin set off a “bimbo alert.” He called Laura Ingraham a “right-wing slut.” (He later apologized.) He once even took to his blog to call yours truly a “bimbo” for the offense of quoting him accurately in a New York Post column.

Keith Olbermann has said that conservative commentator S.E. Cupp should have been aborted by her parents, apparently because he finds her having opinions offensive. He called Michelle Malkin a “mashed-up bag of meat with lipstick.” He found it newsworthy to discuss Carrie Prejean’s breasts on his MSNBC show. His solution for dealing with Hillary Clinton, who he thought should drop out of the presidential race, was to find “somebody who can take her into a room and only he comes out.” Olbermann now works for über-leftist and former Democratic vice president Al Gore at Current TV.

Left-wing darling Matt Taibbi wrote on his blog in 2009, “When I read [Malkin’s] stuff, I imagine her narrating her text, book-on-tape style, with a big, hairy set of balls in her mouth.” In a Rolling Stone article about Secretary of State Clinton, he referred to her “flabby arms.” When feminist writer Erica Jong criticized him for it, he responded by referring to Jong as an “800-year old sex novelist.” (Jong is almost 70, which apparently makes her an irrelevant human being.) In Taibbi’s profile of Congresswoman and presidential candidate Michele Bachmann he labeled her “batshit crazy.” (Oh, those “crazy” women with their hormones and all.)
There are more examples...many more in Powers's article.

Will Obama Ask Super Pac to Return $1 Million Contribution from Maher?
Comedian Bill Maher, noted  for the vile and insulting things he has said about Republican women recently gave $1 million to the Super Pac supporting Obama's re-election. Will the Obama campaign give back the money and disavow such hateful language? Don't bet on it!

At the Tuesday Press Conference there was one half-hearted attempt to squeeze in a question about Bill Maher's conduct but it was quietly ignored.

As long as those on the left loudly condemn Republican speech they find offensive while turning a blind eye to far worse speech coming from their side there will be no improvement in the overall civility that Obama and the Dems say they champion!

Boycott the Rush Limbaugh Boycott Adverstisers

If these companies, who have made millions from advertising with Rush, can be blackmaile by the left to drop his show then they don't deserve to make millions more!

Rush Limbaugh has apologized repeatedly and at length for calling Sandra Fluke a "prostitute" for expecting someone else to pay for her contraception so she can continue to enjoy recreational sex. Never mind that last week we learned that Ms. Fluke attended Georgetown Law school after researching the school's contraception insurance policy and knowing full well they did not provide the coverage. Ms Fluke's role in this phony controversy was stage managed by Democrats who jumped on Rush's inappropriate comment to gin up the usual outrage of people who don't care what name you call anyone on the right but will start threatening to behead conservatives if we dare return the favor.

Part of the left's technique is to go after advertisers of conservative media and this they did with a long awaited vengeance toward Rush. Here is the list of companies who have dropped their advertising on his show:

AOL
Tax Resolution Services
Heart & Body Extract
Bonobos
Sears
Allstate
ProFlowers
Carbonite
Sleep Train
Sleep Number
LegalZoom
Citrix
Quicken Loans

The left isn't stopping there. Through their many front groups (supported by George Soros) they are targeting Rush's remaining advertisers in an effort to drive him off the air. The left will never tolerate any other point of view but their own and this once again shows that they will seek to punish anyone who dares to oppose them.

Boycott the Boycott

Each of the firms cited above has enjoyed tremendous success from advertising on Rush's show. It's a safe bet to say that they owe more to Rush Limbaugh's listeners than they do to the angry rabble who are protesting Rush's show. But in an age of politically correct cowardice they gave in to left wing blackmail. Should they now be rewarded with the continued support of conservatives? I say no.

My advice would be to look up the Facebook or Twitter addresses for the companies which dropped Rush and let them know you will never buy products or services from companies which give in to left wing blackmail. Jeff Lord, writing at the American Spectator has additional contact information for these firms including email and snail mail addresses.

I know Rush has said he doesn't believe in boycotts but perhaps he hopes to win back these advertisers at some time in the future. But, like allies in any fight, what good are adverstisers if they can be so easily intimidated?

And while the issue of Rush's comment, like the contraception fracas itself will soon go away, the focus of the attention of the American people must soon return to the real problems that Democrats have tried to push behind the curtain with this giant distraction. Once women realize that Republicans are not trying to take away their birth control they will start asking "WHERE ARE THE JOBS OBAMA PROMISED?"

Good luck hiding from that one forever Barack!

UPDATE: Cost of Contraception Vastly Overstatated by Dems "expert" witness

From John McCormack at the Weekly Standard:
“Forty percent of the female students at Georgetown Law reported to us that they struggled financially as a result of this policy,” Fluke testified regarding the Catholic university's policy of not covering birth control. “Without insurance coverage, contraception, as you know, can cost a woman over $3,000 during law school.”

But Fluke's testimony was very misleading. Birth control pills can be purchased for as low as $9 per month at a pharmacy near Georgetown's campus. According to an employee at the pharmacy in Washington, D.C.'s Target store, the pharmacy sells birth control pills--the generic versions of Ortho Tri-Cyclen and Ortho-Cyclen--for $9 per month. "That's the price without insurance," the Target employee said. Nine dollars is less than the price of two beers at a Georgetown bar.

It strains credulity to believe that a single Georgetown student can't afford $9 per month for birth control. But this is the justification the mandate's supporters give for forcing religious institutions to purchase insurance that violates their religious and moral convictions.
Did Fluke deliberately mislead Congress in her testimony? Would that be considered perjury? Nah! That would only be the case if a Republican did it!

Good News Story: Dog Rescued After Alabama Tornado

This man lost everything else but saved the one thing he loved most!

After a swarm of killer tornadoes stretching from Ohio to Alabama killed 28 on Friday, there was at least one good news story.

Mosques Nearly Double in Number in U.S. While Churches are Burned, Bombed and Disappear in Middle East and Africa

Tell me again who deserves an apology?

Obama continues to bend over backwards apologizing to mobs and murderers in the wake of the U.S. burning of Korans desecrated by terrorists in Afghanistan. We sure wouldn't want Islamic fanatics to think we don't respect Islam.

Meanwhile, here's a new fact: the number of Mosques in the United States has nearly doubled since September 11, 2001. I guess all the hand wringing over a backlash against Muslims was just flat out B.S. Furthermore, FBI crime statistics show a far greater number of hate crimes directed at Jews in the U.S. than Muslims (the FBI didn't say who was responsible for the attacks on Jews). The bottom line: rather than being persecuted, American Muslims are free to practice their religion unhindered.

On the other hand, during these same years the number of Christian Churches in parts of Africa and the Middle East has declined rapidly. The decline might have something to do with the bombings and burnings of churches throughout much of the region.

Instead of apologizing for improperly disposing of desecrated Korans when will President Obama stand up for the Christians being driven from their homes and burned out of their churches in the Middle East and Africa?

Contraception Activist Using Women's Health as "Political Football"

If you wanted proof that the contraception issue was manufactured by Democrats for political gain, the lesson of Sandra Fluke is clear!

So, get this: Sandra Fluke, who got a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Feminist, Gender, & Sexuality Studies from Cornell in 2003 decided to go to law school. Sandra, who was the treasurer of a pro-choice group at Cornell picked Georgetown Law as her school of choice.

Georgetown Law is part of the Catholic University system which frowns on abortion and birth control. Why would Ms. Fluke, an activist in those issues choose Georgetown? From the Washington Post:
Fluke came to Georgetown University interested in contraceptive coverage: She researched the Jesuit college’s health plans for students before enrolling, and found that birth control was not included. “I decided I was absolutely not willing to compromise the quality of my education in exchange for my health care,” says Fluke, who has spent the past three years lobbying the administration to change its policy on the issue.
Got that? Ms. Fluke knew full well what kind of contraception options she would have as a student at Georgetown Law but went there anyway and immediately began to protest. At one point she served as president of the school’s Students for Reproductive Justice group.

On Thursday Ms. Fluke appeared before a staged hearing in Congress to describe the hardship of paying $1,000 per year for birth control. During her "testimony" Fluke inadvertently revealed the real motivation behind the hearing and the recent unexpected rise of this issue:
Sadly, I think what I have learned is how willing some members of our government are to play political football with women’s health,” she says. “That has been heartbreaking to watch.
This entire "debate" on contraception has been a political set up from the Obama Administration from the get go. The Gallup poll tracks the issues Americans are most concerned about. The economy, unemployment and federal deficit/debt top the list. No where does contraception or reproductive rights appear in any of these surveys.

Rather than face the American people with his appalling record on the economy, jobs or federal spending, President Obama and his Democrat allies are trying to change the subject by turning contraception into that "political football" that Ms. Fluke complained about. But surely Ms. Fluke knows she is a pawn in that game!

Honoring Andrew Breitbart: May a Million Conservative Patriots Bloom!

Breitbart showed conservatives we didn't have to be afraid to confront the left. He gave us the tools, now it's up to us to finish the job!

Andrew Breitbart died suddenly of natural causes Wednesday night at the age of 43. He left behind his wife Susie and four young children.

Breitbart was a pioneer in new media, starting with his work on the Drudge Report and later the establishment of an array of conservative web sites all starting with the word "Big." These sites gave conservative writers access to the mainstream that would never occur in the media world dominated by the left. Perhaps the biggest scoop from Big Government was the ACORN scandal where employees of the community organization were videotaped offering help to a group attempting to smuggle underage children into the country for the purpose of prostitution. The mainstream media, with it's obsession on what Republican candidates think about contraception would have no interest in corruption and illegality at ACORN. Without Breitbart that story would never have seen the light of day.

Breitbart was a prime target of the left wing smear machine which attempts to intimidate or destroy anyone who dares to rock their boat. And he called them out on their lies every single time. When his site broke the Anthony Weiner sex scandal, Breitbart was accused of hacking Weiner's online communications. Later, when Weiner's repeated lies brought him down, he was forced to apologize Breitbart.

When Democrats put out the big lie (which sadly endures to this day) that Tea Partiers protesting the health care bill in Washington had yelled the "n" word at black Democrat congressmen 15 times, Breitbart offered a $10,000 reward if ONE example of these racist slurs could be proven. Not one example was found and the reward remains unclaimed.

Breitbart adopted Obama's dictum to his followers to "get in their face." He never shied away from a confrontation with angry, hate filled, screaming and potentially violent liberals. There are so many examples (here's one). Another of my favorites is when Breitbart wandered into a crowd of Harry Reid supporters who were protesting a Tea Party rally in Nevada. Breitbart was a witness to eggs being thrown at the Tea Party bus. The left accused him of throwing the eggs. Breitbart used the episode to expose once again how the left often accuses the right of doing what the left actually does.

In nature when a beautiful flower fades and it's life cycle is at an end it leaves behind the seeds from which many more plants will grow. Andrew Breitbart has scattered the seeds of fearless opposition to the left across this nation. May a million patriots rise up to take his place.

Rest in Peace Andrew for a job well done!
